As the seasons shift and we cozy up for winter, we’ve taken a moment to reflect on the truly special autumn that just passed here at the farm — and what a memorable one it was!
This year, the citrus trees truly outdid themselves. It was one of the best citrus seasons we’ve seen in years! The orchards were bursting with lemons, oranges, pomelos, and tangerines, with vibrant hues from yellow to orange. Guests were invited to stroll through the groves, pick their own fruit, and taste the freshness straight from the trees. The citrus-scented breeze added a magical note to every walk.
Meanwhile, in the pastures, our Meatmaster sheep brought new life to the land. Lambing season was in full swing, with 30 ewes bringing 40 playful, bouncing lambs into the world. It’s hard to resist the charm of these little ones — especially when they band together for their evening zoomies or try to “help” with farm chores!
Another highlight of the season was the arrival of three orphaned springbuck lambs. With a few bottles of warm milk each day — lovingly supplied by our own adorable Jersey cow, Katryn, who calved in early March — the lambs are growing stronger by the day.
We’re so grateful to our guests who shared this vibrant season with us. Your laughter, curiosity, and joy added to the beauty of the land.
As we step into the stillness of winter, we carry the memories of this bountiful, life-filled autumn with us — and we can’t wait to share the next season’s wonders with you.
Until next time,
Warm regards from the farm 🌾🍊🐑
